Have you got the correct multipoint locking system fitted on your upvc doors ?
The majority of home owners asked what type of locks they had fitted
will not be able to tell their insurance company what they have.
If not you could find in the event of a claim you are not covered

On the majority of these modern systems you will lift the handles to engage the locking points, however their are some older systems that operate by simply closing the door and a turn of the key.
Some are nightlatch operated which means you cannot access the inside without a key.
The more modern systems will have hooks that engage in the door frame and are considered to be the most secure.
However some older systems will only have rollers and are not as secure.
The main thing to check for insurance purposes is how many locking points you have and the type.
If you have any concerns its always best advice to contact your insurers and ask them.
